Tell us what you think.

We would like tenants (contract holders) to share their views on rent and whether they think it’s affordable. We also want to know how the cost-of-living is affecting you to understand how we can support tenants in the future.

Your feedback is really important to us and will help the Council when considering rent charges for 2027/28.

Every tenant who completes the survey and provides their contact details will be entered into a prize draw – there’s £150 for 1 winner and 3 more will win £60 in shopping vouchers. Tenants are asked to give their views by completing a brief Online Survey

Survey closes: 29 September 2026

If you need support to complete the survey, would like a paper copy, or need the survey in an alternative format or language, please contact:

Telephone: 01443 811433/ 01443 811439 or Email: tenantinvolvement@caerphilly.gov.uk

Why are we consulting?

The Housing (Wales) Act 2014, specifies that all Local Housing Authorities in Wales must comply with the Social Housing Rent and Service Charge Standard, rules and guidance.

As a result, affordability for tenants must take into account the whole cost of living in a property e.g. rent, service charges and energy costs of properties, and landlords are expected to consider these costs when setting rents each year.

To demonstrate compliance with the Standard, assurance is required in the following areas as a minimum: Effective tenant engagement and consultation including the methodology and outcome/response.

Expected Outcomes

The feedback received from the survey will be considered by the Council when setting its Rent for 2027/28 rent year.
