Why are we consulting?

"Over the next 3 years Caerphilly is facing a budget shortfall of around £66million, so we need to make some significant changes in order to plug this huge budget gap"; said Cllr Sean Morgan, Leader of Council.

"We are reviewing and transforming many of our services to identify efficiencies and deliver positive change, but inevitably, we will also need to make some difficult decisions over the next 12 months to balance our books" he added.

Some of the key proposals within the budget report include:

• A proposed 6.9% increase in Council Tax for 2024/25

• £19.5m of permanent savings

• £11.4m of temporary savings

• Use of £11.3m from council reserves towards savings
