Notice is hereby given that Caerphilly County Borough Council intends to undertake flood alleviation works at the location identified in the below schedule, under Regulation 5(1) of the above regulations and does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement as the works are improvement of an existing structure and the addition of Natural Flood Management techniques “Leaky Dams” and are of limited magnitude and spatial impact.

Brief Works Summary
The works involve implementing Natural Flood Management (NFM) in the form of natural leaky barriers along with hard engineering in the form of culvert replacement works.
These works aim to slow surface water runoff, increase groundwater recharge, and reduce peak flows in downstream areas prior to discharge into the Sirhowy River.
