Overview
The Pride in Place Strategy is the government‘s plan to create safer, healthier neighbourhoods where communities can thrive. It sets out how we will deliver a step change in how we support communities across the country and provide long-term funding to the most doubly disadvantaged areas.
Our Pride in Place Strategy has been developed in consultation with communities and local people. It represents a break from the past, a new way for government to work in partnership with communities and neighbourhoods, empowering them with the tools and levers to drive meaningful change that reflects their priorities.
Why are we consulting
The UK Government have introduced a Pride in Place Neighbourhood programme to empower local people to shape the future of their neighbourhood. Financial support of £20m is being provided over the next 10 years to help deliver the changes that the local community want to see in their area. The area that the programme is targeted at in Caerphilly County Borough is Bargoed, New Tredegar and Aberbargoed and the funding will start in April 2027. So this is the start of a journey to find out from you what your priorities are and what changes you’d like to see connected to your neighbourhood
