Shaping the new Caerphilly Families First Programme

The Families First Programme provides a range of services to support families, with children aged 0 - 25 years, who live in Caerphilly County Borough. The Families First Programme makes sure families’ needs come first. By doing this the Families First Programme can support families before their needs reaches crisis point.

These online surveys aim to capture feedback on the Families First Programme, considering the needs of Caerphilly families, looking at the support we offer currently and how support could look in the future.

Why are we consulting

We are consulting to ensure we have an informed Needs Analysis before recommissioning the Families First Programme. We want to hear feedback from families and practitioners in Caerphilly to help inform our decisions.

Ways to give your views

As a resident

The family survey is aimed at all residents of Caerphilly, of any age, whether they have access Families First previously or not.

Hard copies of the survey are available on request by emailing familiesfirst@caerphilly.gov.uk

During the survey, residents will be asked to leave their contact details to be considered for a further telephone interview to explore their experiences with Families First in more detail.

As a practitioner

The practitioners survey is aimed at all professionals working with families, parents and/or children within the Caerphilly borough, from both within and outside of Families First

Caerphilly practitioners are welcome to attend one of our consultation workshops on the 9th and 11th June.

Date results are expected

A new Families First Programme will launch on 1st April 2026, informed by the findings from the survey.

Expected outcomes

The completed survey responses will be part of a completed Needs Analysis for Caerphilly Families First.

Using information from the Needs Analysis, Caerphilly Families First will be recommissioning services for a new programme. This process will happen during 2025, following Procurement regulations.
