Consultation has concluded
The draft Strategic Equality Plan has been developed to primarily demonstrate the Council's commitment to meeting the Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011.
The Strategic Equality Plan 2024-2028 includes 7 equality objectives that outline how Caerphilly County Borough Council intends to deliver its equalities commitments, whilst continuing to be an inclusive organisation that does not tolerate discrimination.
This consultation aims to seek the views on the proposed Equality Objectives outlined within the draft Plan, and to identify key actions for delivering these objectives moving forward.
Why are we consulting?
In Wales there are specific statutory duties, which are regulations that set out the actions the Council must take to comply. The Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011 were published by Welsh Government in April 2011 and one of the areas is setting Equality Objectives.
Equality Objectives – prepare and publish a set of equality objectives which meet the Public Sector Equality Duty.
We are therefore consulting on our Equality Objectives and associated actions to ensure that they are fit for purpose and cover the areas that are important to the citizens of Caerphilly County Borough.
If you prefer, you can print the survey and return it in the post to: Caerphilly County Borough Council, Equalities and Welsh Language Team, Penallta House, Tredomen Park, Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed. CF82 7PG.
You can also request a paper version of the survey by e-mailing equalities@caerphilly.gov.uk or calling 01443 864404 / 01443 864353. Hard copies can also be found at your nearest CCBC library.
Completed paper copies can be returned to library staff by 1 December 2023.
Mae'r arolwg hwn ar gael yn Gymraeg. Mae ar gael mewn ieithoedd a fformatau eraill ar gais. This survey is available in Welsh. It is available in other languages and formats on request.
Expected outcomes
A summary of the results will be published in April 2024, alongside the Strategic Equality Plan 2024-2028, following Cabinet and Full Council approval.
