What is Local Area Energy Planning?
We are undertaking local area energy planning (LAEP) for 13 local authorities in Wales, and we would like to understand your current energy and transport use and your future plans.
Please see link to a video produced by Welsh Government for more information on LAEP:
Who is carrying out this study?
The LAEP team is led by Arup, with partners Carbon Trust and Afallen. We are undertaking the LAEPs on behalf of the Cardiff Capital Region.
How we will use the data you provide
We will be using the results to inform our analysis around future technologies for heating, transportation and renewable generation. The local area energy plan will highlight potential future actions for local council, electricity and gas network providers and other local parties, aiding each local authority area to move to more environmentally friendly sources of energy. Data will be consolidated and no personal / individual data will be used.
Data protection and confidentiality
Your data will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR). All information collected about you will be kept strictly confidential. All electronic data will be stored as an encrypted file on a password-protected computer file. Your data will be viewed by the LAEP team at Arup and the Carbon Trust. Your individual answers will not be identifiable.
Consent By taking part in this survey you consent voluntarily to be a participant in this study and understand that you can refuse to answer questions and can withdraw from the study at any time, without having to give a reason.
The questionnaire should take about 10 minutes to respond to.
Deadline Please submit your response before Sunday 31st December 2023.
