Have Your Say
This proposal has been developed through several years of collaborative work between the school, its Governing Body and the Council through the Team Around the School process. Recognising the need to address longer term financial challenges, the school approached the Council to explore sustainable solutions that would support its future viability while protecting educational provision. A range of potential options were subsequently considered and carefully evaluated.
The proposal would enable Welsh-medium secondary education to continue on both existing sites, whilst creating two separate and sustainable schools with their own leadership, governance arrangements and catchment areas.
It is anticipated that the proposal would have minimal day to day impact on learners, staff and the wider school communities, as pupils would continue to be educated on their existing sites, accessing familiar learning environments and benefit from continuity in educational provision.
The proposal has been developed to support the long-term sustainability of Welsh-medium secondary education, strengthen leadership capacity, improve the effective use of resources and support the continuing growth of Welsh-medium education across Caerphilly County Borough.
