Consultation has concluded

Plans to build a new, state of the art leisure and wellbeing hub in the heart of Caerphilly are taking shape. The new leisure and wellbeing hub, which subject to planning permission, is to be built near Caerphilly Business Park, will replace the existing dated leisure centre at Virginia Park. The hub will boast a new swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness suite, spa, children’s play and activity areas, café, community and wellbeing facilities.

The £33.6 million development is being funded through the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund and by Caerphilly County Borough Council. This development is integral to the Caerphilly 2035 regeneration masterplan, supporting the town’s economic regeneration through increased footfall, active travel, opportunity and pride in place.

Why are we consulting?

The aim of this engagement is to inform residents and businesses of the proposed Caerphilly Leisure and Wellbeing Hub plans prior to formal planning permission being submitted, and to understand what our communities would like to see delivered as part of the planned new leisure and wellbeing hub. We are keen for people who currently use the existing leisure centre, as well as people who currently don’t, to share their opinions to help shape the future offer.
