I attended the focus group session on 19th September and wanted to provide some feedback. I wasn't sure what the items on the printed pages of statements were, that we were required to discuss. Were they aspirations? goals? I didn't feel the statements provided gave enough detail to give rise to any form of meaningful conversation. What will the outcomes be? How will they be measured? For example, under Agriculture, the statement 'Farmers' Knowledge: Farmers and growers will understand how their practice affect emissions'. Would farmers be required to attend a course, and receive a certificate to show they had some understanding? How would this affect their practices? Would that be measured? I found it all very woolly and lacking in substance. As time is of the essence in addressing the climate crisis, I hope that detail is quickly added and further consultations are held to discuss more in-depth proposals. I would at least expect to hear some detail of what the expected outcomes are, and how they will be achieved and measured. Thanks,
